If you are a citizen of the United States of America wanting to visit Buenos Aires, be prepared to pay a Visa Reciprocity fee to start December 20, 2009. That fee will be $131.00 payable upon entry into Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires, but not into other destinations in Argentina. Once paid, the fee permits multiple entries into Argentina for ten years in accordance with United States visa reciprocity.
Canadian and Australian citizens will also be charged fees as well: US$70 and US$100 respectively.
It is a nightmare for many international travelers to have a non-refundable fare paid for and a week or less from departure date still be chasing up visas. What can/should you do?
