Hmmm.. I'm DL Platinum and have recently flown twice on upgrade eligible Alaskan flights. Both times I was dead last on the upgrade list. So the way it must work is that all Alaska MVP go on the list first, then Delta. Now that kind of sucks. Oh, and while Horizon doesn't do this, Alaska flights announce early boarding for First & MVP 75K first, then their Gold, then the partner airlines get to board. I guess the partnership in this regard sort of sucks all the way around.

Is there an RSS option? I couldn't find one. Without it, you will lose a lot of readers.

Secured credit cards are generally a terrible idea, but it might be right for you in this situation.. . Basically, a secured credit card is one where you deposit money into an account, and then receive a credit card where your credit limit is the balance in your account. So you give them say $500. Then you can use the credit card up to a limit of $500.. . As I said, they are a terrible deal, but if you have truly terrible credit, it is a way to get a major credit card (Visa, MC) and start building some credit by paying your bill on time.. . If you work for a company that has a credit union (or have a family member that works for a company that has a credit union) see if you can open a deposit account there and see if they will issue you a credit card. Often, credit unions are more lenient with their guidelines than banks. They may also be willing to give you a small "signature loan" based on your income. Paying that off regularly would help establish credit. You could ask them about the likelihood of approval would be before you apply so it doesn't ding your credit again. Credit unions are generally more willing to work with you than a bank.
