Why hello there, Eva award alert emails

With Taiwan-based Eva having joined Star Alliance earlier this week it is no surprise that they are now available for award redemptions with other alliance partners. Still, I was happy to see some alert emails start to flow in over the past couple days including EVA segments on them. And in premium cabins, too. Here’s just one example:

My data set is somewhat limited by the searches users are entering but I’m seeing a lot of options for TPAC crossings and some decent availability between Europe and Asia, including the somewhat random VIE-BKK route. All in all, more partners means more options for a lot more frequent flyers out there. I like that a lot.

Currently BR awards are only showing the ANA-based alert method on the Wandering Aramean Travel Tools site. Hopefully coming to the other bits soon.

  1. Another win. The value prop of “First Class” membership is increasing by the day.

  2. Hi Seth,

I used your award search tool the other day to look for KE award availability. The tool showed 4 seats available in F and none in Business. I ran the same search on Delta’s broken website and it allowed me to book two tickets in Business for the same flights. Can you clarify if there is an issue with the engine you employ for KE awards?

    Thanks,
    Hitesh

  3. Sorry about that, Hitesh. The KE search only shows F inventory as that’s all they have published in the public GDS interface. I need to update the site to indicate that the search is only valid for F seats (C used to be included, too).
