Is anyone out there as addicted to Twitter as I am? Unfortunately, Court of the Airplane Geeks got me completely hooked. Anyway, there are some great aviation twitterers out thee, so I though I should share some of them over time. The first I wiould like to mention is SPEEA, the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace, one of Boeing’s major unions. According to the Twitter bio, the account is run by Ray Goforth, the executive director. They have been going through contract negotiations, and their tweets provide an interesting, very up-to-date perspective on things. For example, on the elveneth these tweets came out:
Lots of hard work. Some progress.
4:16 PM Nov 11th from txt
And then…
Major stumbling block
8:12 PM Nov 11th from txt
The one that came out about a half hour ago was very interesting:
Council preparing strike authorization vote
27 minutes ago from txt
I’ve certainly found the updates interesting. You can follow SPEEA here, and you can find my account here.

I haven’t actually gotten into the whole Twitter scene, not sure how it “works” or its point. Blogs however provide more substantive information/reading.
Chris: Dan is right – Twitter can be very addictive, but also very valuable, depending on who you follow. That’s the key, in my opinion. Find people who have interesting things to say on subjects you care about. There is a loose sort of aviation community on Twitter that stays informed and involved. I’m finding myself blogging less and tweeting more these days!
