You’ve probably heard about the looming BA strike, and I really liked how the airline posted a video from CEO Willie Walsh about it, though it’s gotten less views that I would have expected. Anyway, it’s nice to see BA get ahead of this thing social media-wise:
I noticed I forgot to post a video on Sunday while I was trying to fix my laptop…so I’m posting it now! Here’s Continental’s most recent safety video for the 737-800/900 series, recently updated with new CEO Jeff Smisek. On a side note, who knew that Continental had an official YouTube channel?
Anyway, expect a more substantial blog post later today on Republic’s CSeries order.
AirTran recently released this interesting video on their new themed planes on their official YouTube channel. Which makes me wonder – who knew that AirTran was even on YouTube?!
Anyway, apparently AirTran takes its football seriously – CEO Bob Fornaro, whose airline sponsors the Colts, has entered a bet with Dave Barger, CEO of Jets-sponsor JetBlue.
The Rick Mercer Report had a hilarious segment on the new security procedures in place for Canadians flying to the United States:
Air New Zealand unveiled some new uniforms last week that are to be introduced next year, and they’re already gotten some bad press. I noticed the following in Air New Zealand’s press release about them:

That line immediately made me think of this old Braniff ad – enjoy!
Somehow, I completely forgot to post a video yesterday! Anyway, some staff at Lisbon airport found a creative way to spread some Christmas cheer – take a look!

I haven’t posted a safety video in awhile, so here’s one from Northwest from 1987:
The 787 was undergoing taxi tests yesterday, and David Parker Brown has a great video of the high speed taxi test, where the aircraft’s nose gear was lifted off the ground. The 787 reached a speed of 150 mph during the test. It is scheduled to fly on Tuesday at 10 AM Pacific Time.
Here’s a cool video of a Korean 747 being repainted into a special livery. Hat tip to my friend Chris!
Well, I blogged about Virgin Atlantic’s new Gatwick lounge, and I noticed they also uploaded a YouTube video about it, so I figured it would be worth posting:
Ah, let’s go back in time ten years this week with this ATA L-1011 safety video from 1999.
I read in the latest issue of Airways that three ex-ATA L-1011s are now in Jordan doing charters.
