I figured out AA 70K business class from Asia 2 to PPT
After I posted my frustration with AA for this Asia 2 to PPT award, I posted my route on FT AA forum routing Master Thread. PVG-HKG-AKL-PPT, which are considered as 2 awards. Another FTer posted different routing, which is PVG-xxx-xxx-SYD-AKL-PPT, F cabin all in 45K one way.
The only difference here is routing via SYD, though both routes last connection are AKL. I called AA one more time to test PVG-SYD-AKL-PPT in C, even I overnight in AKL, it priced out correctly with 70K R/T in C. so KEY here is SYD.
however, I did tried to add one more leg, PPT-IPC, it required 2 awards again.

it is a scam! now, i checked the published routings on EF and see that all routings from HKG to IPC must be via SCL, and PPT is not in any routings at all. so. it is not possible to do asia2 to ipc at all.
this is the main goal for me to save my AA miles.
