US grand slam and Country Inn 15000 points per say promotion

I post here and here step by step instruction on US Airways Grand Slam promotion,  this is one more update, I suggest you read all three posts before plan your own Grand Slam

Recently, there is a promotion from Country Inn , where you can get 15000 bonus points as long as your stay Sun – Thursday, I checked the rate, a single Sun night stay at certain hotels are pretty cheap,  you can change your earning preference to Miles for your stay, this will count as one hit, then once you get your points, you can transfer your points to US airways for one more hit.( I am double checking on this now), if you don’t feel safe while I am checking, you can just do the points earning, once you get 15000 points, you can transfer to your US airways account. IF you have family member with same last name, you can transfer 2500 points to each of your family members to get hits for them,

In addition, I have mentioned super shuttle before, if you don’t need the shuttle, but still want to get the hit, find a $8 rate with $3 discount code UYR59, then no show. You will still get 50 miles. Most $5 can be get from selected airport to nearby airport hotels.

I hope everyone can benefit from the post to hit Grand Slam with min effort and cost!

Regarding the Country inn promo, I noticed in earning preference it reads:

“Important Information: When you select Miles as your earning preference your entire balance of Gold Points and all future Gold Points earned will automatically convert to Miles with the airline you have selected in 10,000 point increments. ”

Is there a slight chance they convert all your points and you end up with 1 hit? The reason I asked is because I called goldpoint plus and they said they don’t have anything like direct deposit and even if you set to earn miles, they give you points first and then convert to miles at 8:1 ratio.

    Thanks

If you choose miles for your hotel stay, then how will you get 15,000 bonus points?

Nortram – although not posted on website the standard earning when selecting miles is 500 miles per stay at Radisson and Park Plaza or 250 miles per stay at Country Inn & Suites or Park Inn.

I have asked the goldpoints plus management about this in the past and the response was they prefer people to earn goldpoints and they do not publicize the airline miles option on their website.

@ Hi, Ric, There is no where mentioned in T&C saying you have to choose points in order to get bonus points since the bonus points are posted separately, may I should double check with them

Possibly, you would get the 1K (or 2K if you’re elite) points for online booking bonus plus the 15k points for a stay at a Country Inn.

Nowhere does it says that the stay should include Sunday. I had a Monday night stay and it did show the 15k bonus while reservation. All you need is a 3 day advance booking.

  12. Troy said,

@Avi, you are right, I was thinking Sun-Thurs where SUN usually has cheaper rate

    Hi

I have a very frustrating situation!

The 6 SPG stays have been posted to my US Airways account as “STARWOOD PREFERRED GUEST ADD TRANSFER”. The costumer reps said that they are “transfer”, not “stay”, and only counted as 1 hit !!!!!!

I did a genuine conversion from SPG to Dividend and the description is “CONVERSION: SPG POINTS TO MILES”

What can I do now ???

  14. Troy said,

@hury, they are stays, not transfer, you are mis informed by reps
