About Delta “International origination” fee

I forgot to mention this in my post yesterday, but Gary brought this up, I’d like to share what I know about this.  Based on my experience of redeeming Delta miles, this fee is only charged for award  originating FROM Europe, I don’t know the actually account because I never issued a ticket from Europe, only hold them as partial award, I can see close $200 taxes and fees, so I am assuming this fee is $150 per ticket.

Gary mentioned the fee also apply for award originating from Australia

Also, a1l613 reports flight from middle east, I did quick search, if on Delta metal, $40, if on AF or KLM metal, $400

Delta charges more than just an intl origination fee for ex-Europe on AF. Average charge for the 10+ tickets I booked this year ex-CDG to Asia and Africa was $400+

@Damaxer, For ex EU, $150 was my guess, possible more, but don’t forget you need to pay CDG premium passenger taxes too.

as for MH, thanks for new infor, they changed like u said.

Not just charged ex-Europe, it was charged on an ex-SYD redemption I made (SYD-SGN-SYD on VN).

They charge like $400 ex TLV on Delta metal. More on AF or KL.

@Al613, You were charged $400 for R/T DL ex-TLV? I’ve booked that route several times and have never been charged more than $45

@Damaxer and a1l613, I did a quick search, if it’s Delta metal, it’s very cheap, if it’s AF or KLM, it’s close to $400
