Last year, country inn has promotion, which you can earn 15K for one night stay. Now a similar promotion is running, valid until Feb 17th, 2011.

Just not too long ago, regent hotels left Gold Point Plus program after the entire brand was sold.
The brand has made agreement with Goldpoint Plus program, all of their hotels will join Gold points plus program again, the first 4 hotels are Beijing, Zagreb, Berlin and Bordeaux

According to this FT thread, you can get 2000 GoldPoint plus points just for sign up, you better do it now because 2000 points will take up to 14 days to post.
You can transfer 2000 points to 250 US airways miles to get 1 Grand Slam hit.

Goldpoints plus adds some benefits for elite, I still don’t see any big change except elite member will earn 2000 online booking bonus per stay and 2500 bonus points for Avis car rental in US.

Carlson Hotels Gold Points Plus joined others to offer free night promotion, member must register, then stay btw June 1st-Aug 31st, earn 1 free night for every 2 stays and up to 7 free nights.

I signed up their instant silver and fast track to Gold promotion before my first stay this year, after my fifth stay posted to my account, my status was still showing as Silver. After about 6 emails back and forth, I was eventually upgraded to Gold level.
To be honestly, the program is the weakest among all major full service hotel chains. although, they are planning on their “5 year Global Strategy”, the first thing they need to change/improve is their loyalty program.
Why would I still want to become their gold member? It’s their first Quarter promotion. The total cost for my 5 stays are $280 USD, and I got more than 60K points, I am sure these 60K points are valued more than $280 USD. In addition, as a Gold member, I can use this 4 for 2 or 2 or 1 +Breakfast promotion., which is considered as The best benefit of being a Gold member!
