American airline and Hyatt just announced a new promotion: Earn up to 25000 AA bonus miles from May 3rd- July 5th, according to T&C, you must register with Hyatt for code: AA25K then first 5 stays will get u 25K bonus miles in total.
The best part is the promotion is running during FFN promotion and Hyatt fast track to Diamond promotion, so you can earn 2.5 FFN +25K AA miles+ 1/3 credit for your fast track to Diamond.
However, you will have to give up ur Gx bonus earning for hotel stays, but if you already a diamond member, you still get ur amenity bonus points.

Effective June 4th, a new award chart will be used, in this new chart, 65 hotels moving to a lower category and 89 hotels moving to a higher category. But a new Category 6, which will require 22,000 points and include only 20 properties will be there.
The worst upgrade are Hyatt Hua Hin in Thailand and Hyatt in Bali, Indonesia, from Cat 1 to cat3, the properties were the best value for suite stays. Also Hyatt Auckland is also bumped one level!
If every chain keeps creating new category, by 2020, i think every chain will have more than 10 categories.

Below is the information prepared by Starwoodlurker2
- 1(One) Free Weekend Night award for every 3(Three) eligible stays.
- Registration begins 1 May 2010 and ends 30 June 2010. Only 61 days, so do not miss the window.
- Earning period begins 1 May 2010 and ends 31 July 2010.
- Redemption period begins 7 May 2010 and ends 19 December 2010.
- Awards are redeemable only at Participating properties from Categories 1 to 6.
- Free Weekend nights refer to any Friday, Saturday or Sunday except for properties otherwise stated.
This is actually not a great promotion compares to Hilton and Hyatt, it makes me feel the promotion was under the pressure of their competitors since they all offers free night.
I will talk about more soon.

The reward certificate is not the one u find at Costco, it has some restrictions such as min stay 2 nights, not valid hyatt place and summerfield Suite, Andaz and New york+Victor in Miami, max 2 certificates per stay.
The certificate expires Dec 30,2010 and AMEX MR promotional redemption rate valid until May.
However, it does bring some good value if u stay at a full service Hyatt for 2 nights. You must have offer code HDC186 during the reservation process. I picked Hyatt Orange County weekday as example, the cheapest with offer code is $238 for 2 nights+tax, without offer code, it’s the same price, so you got extra $100 saving for 2 nights. Although, this certificate says u can not combine with other certificates, it should not be too hard for u to combine this one with certificate u get from Costco at 20% off price. Do you think they really read every single line of the certificate at US full service Hyatt?

According to this news, Hyatt co brand credit card issued by Chase bank will come soon.
I am surprised the card is a Visa card because Hyatt had promotion with mastercard for many many years.

It looks like Hyatt credit card will be launched sometimes later this year according to this FT thread, it will be a MasterCard for sure considering Hyatt had many promotions sponsored by them.
Currently, there are 9 versions credit cards in the survey, but all of them offers the following benefits:
1 3 Confirmed Suite upgrades on both paid AND award stays
2 Signup bonus on most cards was either 2 Free Hyatt Nights at any Hyatt worldwide or else 1k GP pts every EVERY Hyatt stay you’ve made in the past 2 years. That last part was interesting as it would give me over 100k GP pts for signing up for this card!!!!
3 Either 3 or 5 pts per $ spent on Hyatt stays.
4 Airline lounge pass for your trip every time you redeem an award stay at a Hyatt. I wonder how they work this one out?
Also includes, free internet, BF, resort fee, diamond by spending!
If above benefits become true, it will be the most generous credit card ever!
