Some of you may already know that Marriott Gift card/vacation is considered as visa when using at marriott properties and is qualifying for all promotions that require a visa card.
The card has 15 numbers and exp date printed on the back, to use as a visa for prepaid rate on marriott.com, select visa as payment option, add a 4 in front of rest 15 numbers, use exp date on the card as exp date. You are good to go!
I just tried last week, it worked out!
If using at international properties, it carries 3% transaction charge just like most Visa cards.
This will make marriott stay cheaper, because most time you get your Gift Card/Vacation at a discounted price, sometimes 10% off, sometimes 10% bonus, sometimes 10 MR points per dollar, check the promotion I mentioned here.
Also, using your Marriott Credit card to purchase Gift card on Marriott website is considered as marriott related charge, that means 5 MR points per dollar. so, you get 5 points u suppose to get if using the card at properties and you get extra perks/saving by using gift card!

I got the email from chase, Marriott Premier Visa Card 50,000 sign up bonus promotion, up from previous 30K.
You only need to make one purchase to get all 50K bonus. The annual fee is $65, but you do get one free night certificate valid for cat1-5 every year or cat 1-4 upon opening the card.
I don’t like Marriott program and chain, but it doesn’t mean I don’t like their card. I think even u don’t use the card, paying $65 each year for a free night certificate is still worth it.

Marriott Vacation card is just like a Gift card, which can be used at all Marriott properties worldwide and treated as Visa card. The only difference I can see btw Gfit card and Vacation card is you have to buy min $1000 for the Vacation card.
From now through July 31, 2010, you will receive 1,000 bonus miles for each $1,000 Marriott VacationCard you purchase, or 2,000 bonus miles for each $2,000 VacationCard, for up to 10,000 bonus miles. Plus, you get 10% off with a savings up to $200 per card.
Hat tip to Ramolnar
Make sure you save the gift confirmation email, in case the miles don’t post, reply to that mile to get credited.
