Podcast #18 - Trouble with Chain Saws; Sprint for Status

October 16th, 2005

Emptying out my notebook with an odds-’n-ends podcast. Traveling between Phoenix, Denver and Chicago this week, I manage a 50-degree temperature drop and have the TSA reject a checked chain saw. However, I haven’t had to take my shoes off for two weeks — are we seeing the end of the shoe carnival? We also talk about the fourth quarter tactics around re-up’ing frequent traveler status, clothing problems, and update the results of our Best US Airline poll. Here’s a direct link to the podcast file.

      David -

Thanks for taking the time to leave the comment. I was wondering, though — Why Little Rock?

      Regards,

I have the worst time finding pants that fit. I actually like low-rise pants but I also won’t tollerate pants that make me moon people at the same time. Most of my jeans have some spandex in them so they stretch a bit and with a belt this means that even though they are low-rise, they don’t go sliding down when I bend over.

I also hate shirts (and this is probably more of a problem in women’s clothes than in mens) that shimmy up over time. T-shirts, tank tops, and occasionally a dress shirt if it has some stretchy spandex or nylon. When I try it on at the store, it’s fine, I move around a bit, no problems and seems more than long enough, but when I get them home I find that about once an hour I’m having to pull it down so as to not expose my belly. Doesn’t matter that there’s no one around to see because I’m at home, it still bothers me.

I really do wish that there were some way of figuring out how clothes would wear before you buy them.

Also, I do like the new itunes links to the music used in each show.
Also hadn’t noticed the clustermap before … that’s interesting as well. :)
