Podcast #24 - What Do You Miss When You Travel; Fun with Rental Cars
December 2nd, 2005
Back on the road after the Thanksgiving holiday, this week’s podcast is recorded in the bathroom of the Durham, NC Marriott and edited in the RDU Admirals Club. A listener asks “What do you miss when you travel?” Also, some ideas on staying connected with the family — replacing those random bits of conversation while on the road, and some careless moments with rental cars. Here’s a direct link to the podcast file.

Mark,
Another great show. Really identified with “things you miss while traveling”. Personally I identify with the morning routine you mention. Particularly my home coffee maker and that perfect morning brew.
thanks for the show,
Dan O’Leary

We are, of course, creatures of habit and it’s amazing how bad the rest of the day can become if we don’t start off with our morning routine. Coffee is definitely a key part of that routine for most people. I have one guy on a project right now who brings his French Press from home so that he can start the day with a good cup of coffee. Not a problem — until he gets into home roasting.
Regards,
Mark

You just gotta love rentals. There is nothing like the excitement of walking down the isle and find out that you actually got a “cool” car. In Memphis I once got a bright yellow Ford Escape, I felt like I was on Baywatch.
I have been off roading in North Carolina in a brand new Ford Expedition. A quick trip through the car wash erased any evidence.
Just remember the difference between a Jeep and a rental car is there are some places you just can’t take a Jeep
