You know, at first I laughed like everyone else. Then it dawned on me this really isn't funny. In the past, I have suffered from anxiety attacks. Thank God I've not had such an attack in more than a decade. As I continued to watch this video, I realized that this woman may very well an anxiety disorder, too. Some anxiety attacks manifest themselves in this way that one sees on the video. I'm just glad there was no YouTube 10 years ago, otherwise the world would've been laughing at me like this. I really think a little more compassion and a little less judgement and mockery is in order here. It's really not nice to make fun of or exploit those with mental illnesses.

USA Today has a follow-up to this story.

Cathay Pacific has apologized for embarrassing a customer whose anguish after missing her flight was captured on video by an airline employee and posted on the Internet.

The Hong Kong airline said in a statement to The Associated Press on Thursday that the worker who filmed the video has been disciplined but that another person posted the footage on YouTube, a video-sharing website.

The South China Morning Post newspaper reported Thursday the woman met with Cathay's customer relations officials last week and was calm during the four-hour meeting as she explained the embarrassment the video has caused her.

According to the story, almost 5 million people have viewed the video since it was posted on Feb 12.

That woman seems seriously disturbed to me. No, seriously. I've never known anyone to freak out like that. She's simply braying at the top of her lungs just for the sake of it, kind of like a two-year-old would.

How weird. I guess some people have no shame.

It makes you wonder whether she's just a weirdo who can't cope with minor problems like missing a flight, or someone who missed a flight to see a dying parent or something similar.

Nonetheless, having just endured a 10 and a half hour flight filled with children running up and down the aisles and bumping into people in the aisle seats, I'm not sure if I could have taken an hysterical adult on the same flight, too. The people on the plane she missed don't know how lucky there were.

OK - I'm going to be a little snarky here but it has to be said! For the love of God - give that woman an elephant tranquilizer. Thank GOD she didn't get on the plane. I can only imagine what the flight attendants would have had to deal with. I'm thinking hormone replacement therapy might be an option as well. If I EVER act that way please load me up with progesterone, Prozac and alcohol! I'd rather act a fool because I'm drugged/drunk than for missing a plane! And her husband taped it? It's a good thing they check for handguns in security because the second thing I'd do would be to shoot my husband! Hmmm - maybe I should get a drink - that tape bothered me a little too much! Ha!
