Last year we posted an article about the SPOT personal communicator. If you pop on over to GPS Magazine you can read a more hands on review of the product, and see that the testers were not too impressed with the one thing that this device should have excelled at; GPS reception.
In a day and age where GPS receivers are becoming sensitive enough to pick up a signal indoors it’s a shame to read that this unit always need an unobstructed view of the sky to pick up satellites.
It’s still on my "want it" list, simply because anything with "satellite transmitter" and "GPS" in the same description gets me all giddy.
