This is one of those "why didn’t someone else think of this" products. Take one part Expresscard, one part SD(HC) card reader, add a dash of backup software, and hey presto; you’ve got a fully automated internal backup solution for your notebook (and your most important files).
The FlashBack adapter constantly monitors files you select, and keeps backups of them on the installed SD card. All files are automatically encrypted as they are copied.
It’ll be out in Q2 and will retail for just $29.99 (SD memory sold separately).

1Great find! Thanks. Looking forward to getting it. I think the key will be how it can handle Outlook PST files. By that time SD will probably be widely available in 8GB size – that’s more than enough for frequently updated files. Larger file sizes can be tackled with external HDD

2There are a bunch of laptops out there with SD slots already, so this is not completely revolutionary (though they do bundle the software, which is a nice touch). Anything to keep data alive and well is a welcome development. Then again, it makes losing your backups a lot easier when the media is so small.
