Some good news that just arrived in my inbox (from a very reliable source). All T-mobile reps just had some training about 3G, and it has been confirmed that it will be available within a month. The date whispered to me was May 1st.

This is great news for anyone who didn’t bail on T-mobile to get faster wireless data from one of the other big operators (who have all been offering some form of 3G for several years).

With faster data should also come more phones that support it; fingers crossed that they’ll have matching smartphones and Blackberries to go with their service AND that they have the coverage to satisfy those of us that have been waiting for them to finally catch up with the competition.

T-mobile won the auction for their little slice of 3G Spectrum back in November 2006, so it’s safe to say that it is about time they finally started putting their Billions to some use.
