The world of GPS receivers is a tough one; companies are trying to outsmart the competition every way they can.
Advanced features like text to speech and traffic information have become fairly standard on most units, but it took an innovation by TomTom to really amaze me. It’s called "EasyPort" and is nothing more than a folding windscreen mount that folds flush against the unit. It’s one of those "why didn’t I think of that" designs.
For those of you that travel with a GPS unit, you’ll know that the mount can be a real pain to carry along; some of them are so big that it’s not even practical to pack at all.
The EasyPort also allows the owner to quickly remove their TomTom from the mount instead of leaving it in the car, and with the new thinner unit design, the entire package is small enough to carry in a shirt pocket or the front pouch of a carry on bag.

This product is awfull It is on so tight you cant remove the mount

Re. Barry’s comments, it’s very tight the first couple of times you take it off the mount. After that it’s fine.

How does this mount attach to the windshield??

Yes. How DOES it fit. The original supplied with my 730 is useless and keeps falling off. Not a patch on the Sony mount.
Does it have an active sucker or is it just push-on and hope for the best??

I had trouble when I first started using this type of mount. No matter how hard I pressed against the windshield it still kept falling off. Then I discovered that the mounting disk actually twists and creates a suction against the windshield. Twist clockwise to lock, counter-clockwise to unlock. I now prefer this mount to the one that came with my GO 720. Enjoy!

We have both problems with the mount on the new XL335s. The mount on the unit comes off way too easy even when pushed all of the way on. Also the suction mount for the windshield falls off often when the unit is touched even if the ring is twisted. A very very inferior design on that model. Back to Costco.
