This is MiuTunes. It’s a Blackberry music player, and it is (so far) the coolest music player I’ve come across for my device.

It has a very slick interface that lets you browse your library by artist, album, song, genre and year. Plus it has a "coverflow" browser like on the most current iPods.

The only downside I could find is that it wasn’t easy to transfer the audio to my Bluetooth stereo headphone, and that the makers want $30 for it.

There has been a lot of good quality Blackberry software developed lately, but sadly most of it seems to be in this price range, which is a shame as it really limits the amount of software I’m willing to purchase.

I’ve included some more photos after the jump for your reading entertainment.

You can learn more about MiuTunes here, where you’ll also find a (7 day) trial version.

Ahhh… Anonymous blog commenter, where would we be without your "insider information"?

Someone posted the Dell Mini Inspiron specifications on the Dell blog, they sound reasonable enough for me to trust, and nice enough to want one of these new machines. 1280×800 screen would be perfect, and a 1.6GHz Atom would be sufficient for almost anything you throw at it.

If Dell actually manages to sell this for under $500, then Asus and HP better have a response really fast, cause otherwise I see Dell beating them at their own game.

    AT&T must think I’m stupid…

     image

Last month I moved my home phone service from AT&T to Comcast (went smoother than expected). But Comcast thought it would be funny to sell my information to anyone willing to pay a few bucks, which has resulted in tons of mail "welcoming me to the neighborhood".

One of those pieces of mail came from none other than AT&T themselves. They are so concerned with me that they are offering a super-special wireless phone deal. If I call now and mention a secret priority code, they’ll sell me a Nokia 6085 phone for FREE (after a $30 mail in rebate).

    image

Of course, they forgot that most people already know that AT&T stinks, and that any offer they make will result in some extra scrutiny. Which is just as well, as their own damn website sells the same phone for free without a rebate. But an even better deal gets you the same phone for minus $50 through Letstalk.com.

Thanks for nothing AT&T, now I know why I dumped you!

Well, this is kind of silly… The long awaited Asus Eee PC 900 (with an 8.9" screen) barely ever made it onto retailers shelves, and it’s already being canned.

Apparently Asus only intended it as a "transitional device", in anticipation of their Intel Atom powered Eee 901 (and to compete with the HP Mini-Note).

This is good news for people who didn’t manage to actually find a 900, but bad news for those that did, as their machines are already obsolete. The 901 should be available pretty soon, but it’s a mystery how long it’ll take to actually make it Stateside.

The Eee PC 900 was unveiled for the Asia Pacific market during late April and for the US market on May 12. But Asustek is said to have stopped taking any more Eee PC 900 orders as the Eee PC 901 is set to launch on June 3, the sources said.

T-mobile prepaid now comes with the option for unlimited nights. If you are a prepaid user, and have selected their "pay per day plan" ($1 per day for $0.10 calls), then you also get unlimited nighttime calls (7pm-7am).

If you talk a lot, then this really is a sweet plan, unlimited calls for a buck is pretty impressive, and even puts current postpaid users at a disadvantage (who only get 8pm nights).

The $1 charge only applies to days you actually use the phone, but has the disadvantage of not being eligible for the T-mobile prepaid gold rewards, nor can it be added to a Sidekick prepaid plan.

You can read all the fine print here.

When Apple introduced the new generation iPod’s, they crippled the video output system that had been in use since the first video capable player. In the past you simply plugged a $5 cable into the headphone jack, and could plug your iPod into a video source.

Then Apple removed that option, and made things worse by adding a special "authentication chip" in theirĀ  video cable that would prevent any old cables from working with the new devices.

When Apple introduced the iPod Classic, the iPhone, the iPod Touch and the new generation iPod Nano, every existing video accessory stopped working.

And of course, until recently this "authentication chip" was only available in the original ($50) Apple cable.

The new Dealextreme Premium Plated AV Cable for iPhone and New iPods shaves more than $30 off the price of the Apple cable, and ships from Hong Kong for just $18.31.

Thanks to these creative Chinese manufacturers, it’s now even cheaper to plug your iPod/iPhone into the hotel TV and watch some decent stuff!

Update: Delextreme have updated the page and have removed the iPhone compatability from the list.

Brian Lam of Gizmodo ran into Michael Dell (yes, THAT Dell), and managed to snap some photos of something mighty sexy. Take one part Dell Insprion, one part HP Mininote and add a dash of EEE PC.

What you end up with is probably one of the sweetest looking mini notebooks out there.

Nothing is know about the specs other than what Brian managed to photograph (VGA out, a couple of USB ports and a card reader).

Fingers crossed that this beauty will become reality, and that it’ll be up on Dell.com sooner rather than later, especially given the current pricing on the Asus Eee machines and the lackluster reviews of the HP Mininote.

Update: Dell confirms it, but is only willing to reveal "stay tuned"…

Crackberry got their hands on some neat slides that show the Blackberry "Flip" experience. This new "experience" of course refers to the upcoming super-(not-so)-secret Blackberry Kickstart.

It looks like it’ll be part Blackberry Pearl, and part regular flip phone, but with a nice external display.
