I agree with the poor history from Magellan. I gave someone a Magellan for Christmas and it broke down after a month. But they actually made things right by setting up an exchange within 7 days. I'd say that's pretty much on par with any electronics manufacturer. Of course, it's better if the thing wouldn't break in the first place... Thanks for the comments Ben. I've got about 140 comments over at http://ben-johnson.org/blog/archives/2005/10/158/ about how bad their service is. Basically, it can takes months to get a unit repaired, they disappear into black holes, they don't actually get fixed, etc. Buy a Garmin or a TomTom. Be warned though - Magellan’s customer service sucks if you have problems. I’ve got about 140 comments over at http://ben-johnson.org/blog/archives/2005/10/158/ about how bad their service is.
