This is a totally hot deal, the fantastic HP Mini-Note 2133 is currently on sale at Walmart (of all places) for just $298 after a $100 rebate.
The rebate is valid until TODAY (September 30th), so you have just a couple of hours to pick on up. The machine has a 120GB drive, a Via C7 1.2GHz processor, Gigabit Ethernet and an 8.9" display. Clearly HP will have something new for us soon!
There are some other Mini-Note versions on sale, you can find them all here .

HP just announced the newest entry in their Elitebook lineup; the new 6930p can be configured with several power saving features, which should make the machine capable of lasting 24 hours between charges.
By implementing an SSD drive, a special LED display and an ultra capacity battery, the boffins at HP may have finally delivered on the promise of all day computing. Of course, until the machine has been reviewed in a real life test, we’ll just have to take their word for it.
The Elitebook 6930p should be out by October, but no price has been revealed yet.

The HP iPaq 900 was announced close to a year ago, but it is finally being shipped to stores and should be available in the next 2 or 3 weeks. It uses the same form factor you’ll find in other popular smartphones like the Blackjack and the Motorola Q, but unlike those devices, the iPaq 900 runs the full version of Windows Mobile and it has a touch screen.
On board is also 3G HSDPA data, a QWERTY keyboard, 240×320 screen, GPS, a 3MP camera, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. All in all, a very impressive package (except for the low-res screen).
Nothing is known about pricing yet, nor whether any US based operators will offer the phone in their lineup.

Voodoo (now an HP subsidiary) just announced the Envy 133. In every possible way, this thing is everything the Macbook air should have been.
It has an HDMI port, 2 USB ports (one is a combined USB/eSATA port), it supports internal mobile broadband cards, it has a backlit keyboard, LED screen, low light webcam, an instant on OS (which offers access to Skype and a web browser in under 10 seconds). The power brick can charge the machine AND function as a Wi-Fi to Ethernet bridge.
Storage options include an 80Gb 4200rpm drive or a 64Gb SSD drive. It even comes complete with an external DVD recorder. Memory can be expanded to 2Gb, and the battery is removable!
It weighs 3.4 pounds and is 12.7×9.0×0.7 inches (the Macbook Air weighs 3 pounds and is 12.8×8.94×0.76 (at the thickest end).
The starting price is $2099, which is $300 more than the Macbook Air.

It’s been several weeks since the first HP Mini Note machines made it to their new owners, and the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.
The pro’s all seem to mention the sleek design, great choice of different specifications and a higher resolution display than other ultra portable machines.
Hopefully I’ll have a full review up of this machine within the next few weeks, and will take a look at it from a travelers perspective.
In the meantime, why not check out the reviews from others:

It was just a few months ago when the first photos leaked of HP’s new ultra portable notebook. They clearly took a close look at what people want, because the specifications are close to what I’d call "perfect".
1.6GHz CPU, various hard drive options (including a 120Gb 7200RPM drive and a 4Gb solid state version), 2Gb of RAM, Bluetooth, WiFi and even an Expresscard/54 slot.
Laptop Magazine took one for a spin, so check out their review. With the new 9" Asus EEE PC’s heading our way in June the market for ultra portables just got a lot more interesting.
