Happy New Year! This is the last installation of My Favorite Travel Things Giveaway and so I’m putting together a few of my favorite things in this prize pack.
My # 1 favorite hotel amenity are the products are the St Regis Hotels. Remede is a great product line that is used not only in the St Regis hotels, but in many Luxury Collection Hotels and spas around the world. I love their shampoo and body wash and actually buy them for my home. I’m giving away a travel-sized prize pack that includes shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, a loofa and lavender satchel from the St Regis Hotel. Another amenity I love at the St. Regis Hotel are the slippers. They’re my favorite hotel slippers. So I’m giving away a pair of those too.
Another travel favorite is iTunes. I couldn’t survive all my long flights without some great music and a few videos. So I’m also giving away a $50 iTunes Gift Card. One of the best things I downloaded in 2012 was season 1 of Homeland.
Another thing I can’t travel without is a pashmina shawl. It’s a great way to avoid a chill when you suddenly get cold. I always pack mine when I fly – you just never know when a plane is going to be freezing. People are often surprised to hear that I use my pashmina in Thailand – one of the warmest places you can visit all year round. However, after spending time outside in 90 or 100+ degree heat, it can feel extra cold in air conditioned restaurants, hotels, etc… Thailand is also where I buy my pashminas and I have about 2 dozen or more of them now. If you visit Thailand, make sure you pick up a few – they’re an amazing bargin. (Don’t pay more than $12 USD for one and if you buy several you can get them for about $8-10 USD each. I bought 6 recently at MBK and paid 250 bhat each or $8 USD.) This prize pack also includes a pashmina shawl from Thailand. What is a pashmina? Pashmina is cashmere fabric made from the hair of certain long-haired breeds of goats. The word pashmina can also refer to a particular style of shawl, generally with knotted fringes, woven out of pure cashmere or a blend of cashmere and silk. Don’t worry guys – they can be worn by men!

The other thing I really love on the road is my favorite Starbucks drink – the Cool Lime Refresher. It’s so refreshing. Recently, when I checked into the brand new W Bangkok the hotel had a Cool Lime Refresher waiting for me in the room! That was a treat and such personalized service! So I’m also including a $25 Starbucks gift card so you can try a Cool Lime Refresher or your own favorite drink.
Let’s review what’s in this New Year’s Day prize pack:
- A Remede Travel Pack with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, a loofa and a lavender satchel from the St Regis Hotel.
- St Regis slippers

My iPhone. It’s a music player, computer, navigation device, book reader and game player all in one.
I can’t travel without my Belkin mini surge protector. It has 3 plugs and 2 USB ports and it’s a life save when I need to charge all my gadgets but only have one plug. Best $25 I’ve ever spent!

My kindle
I cannot travel without my IPad! Love it
I never leave for a trip without earplugs. I tried a bunch and found a pair that fit. I keep two in my briefcase, at least one in my roll-aboard, and if I’m checking something (like scuba gear) I pack another pair or two in there. Why so many? Because I lose them constantly, they wear out, and I enjoy being able to hand them to my row-mate when there’s a young child onboard. That’s $10 (for 20+ pair) that makes travel (and onboard sleep) easier.
Laptop
My iPad 2!
My Nexus 7 tablet – it’s small, it’s relatively inexpensive, and it’s versatile – I can use it as a book reader, music/podcast player, or game console. I’m working to configure it with all the travel tools I might need, including Skype for free phone calls from anywhere there’s WiFi.
My Bose NC headsets. Puts me in my own world on a plane.

I definitely have other favorites too similar to things you mentioned but this is probably number one. Thanks for sharing your must haves! Great to read!

I wish I had read this earlier as my husband was just to Thailand. When I travel, I always want to have my own medications with me, just in case. In other countries it can be difficult to come by our go-to cold or flu relief.
