About Me
Simply put, I love to travel. I love to take amazing trips to exotic destinations and most of all – I LOVE points, miles and status! For the past 9 years I’ve been traveling for business and I’ve become known among my friends as the point person (cliché, I know). When it comes to finding new ways to enjoy your points, I’m writing the book on it (or at least a blog about it).
I’m about to reach the 1 million frequent flyer mile threshold for the 2nd time in 9 years. I currently have Chairman status with US Airways. I have Platinum Status with Starwood and Accor. Unfortunately, I dropped to Gold with Marriott. In 2011 I flew 115 flight segments and had over 180 hotel nights – a slow year for business travel. 99 of those nights were at Starwood and the remainder split between Marriott, Hilton & Kimpton.
My favorites: US Air (everyone wants to know why! I choose USAir because they have the most liberal Star Alliance partner redemption program in my opinion.) I’m a loyal SPG girl, and split the rest of my nights between Marriott and Accor (Sofitel) love them both. What’s on tap for 2012? All international travel. So I should have no problem keeping up my airline status. I’ll go for Platinum with Starwood and then switch over to Marriott or Accor.
By day, I work for the worlds largest provider of nonprofit software. Nonprofits raise over $100 billion annually and I’m a part of that. We have offices in Charleston, Boston, Indy, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Mexico, the Netherlands and UK. As the company’s International Principal, I get to visit all of our offices and amazing clients around the world. I love my job. Prior to finding my career inside the computer world, I worked for several National Hockey League Teams in their front offices. These unique career choices have given me ample opportunity to explore travel and hospitality.
I have been featured in and contributed to NewsWeek, US News & World Report, USA Today and Huffington Post.
I don’t have any credit card affinity links, or any affinity links for that matter. If you want to support a fellow blogger by signing up for credit cards, you can check out Deals We Like or Just Another Points Traveler. I do make a small about of money when you click on one of the ads on the blog pages. All that money goes into the prizes I give away throughout the year.
