The proprietor of Free Frequent Flyer Miles points me to his site where he has an offer for the Northwest Visa with 25,000 bonus miles after $500 in spend and no annual fee for the first year.

Several readers have sent along links with 25,000 bonus miles (the one I recently posted offered only 23,500) but those links didn’t say anything about the fee waiver. This one does, so thanks, Gary!

Where exactly does it say that there is NO FEE for the first year? I only see a $90 annual fee (yeouch!!!)

  2. Gary said,

Now THAT is weird — it DID say no fee yesterday!

About a month ago I applied for a Platinum Visa for 10k bonus miles. When I saw the offer for 20.5k miles I sent them a fax requesting to honor me the difference as was suggested by couple of their reps. However, I got a reponse mail declining my request and saying that this offer is only available for WorldPerks Elite members. That fact is nowhere mentioned in the T&C. After that I called and talked to a supervisor and also her manager regarding this and no matter what I said I was not able to convince them to honor me the difference. The manager suggested I write to their president. I have no idea how and new condition like that can pop up which is not in the T&C, but it’s really frustrating. I don’t really know what I can do at this point.
