Thanks for the great summary! For those who are frequent AA flyers, you can now call up the AA customer service number and ask for the 35,000 point promotional card. This promotion is only offered if you call them directly. I believe the same fees and rules apply towards this card as it is for the 30,000 point card.

Thanks Gary, this is an excellent write up of all the options. However can you offer any suggestions for someone in Australia? I am an SPG Plat and I bank miles with UA. So I dont want a QF affiliated card :). Thanks.

[...] You can transfer to most frequent flyer programs at a 1:1 ratio, and then they give you 5000 bonus miles for each 20,000 increment that you transfer. That means if you’re transferring points to an airline program where the ratio is 1:1, you’re really earning 1.25 miles per dollar spent instead of just 1 mile per dollar like most cards. There are even a couple of programs, such as LAN’s, where the ratio is 1:2 — 20,000 Starwood points convert to 50,000 kilometers in that program (because the bonus is doubled as well). More info (Vew from the wing).
Hey Gary, any idea if that aplication for the Priority Club VISA with the 45,000 plus 15,000 bonus point offer you provided a link for will still work?
About ready to go for it but just wanted to see if there have been any recent feedback on that.
Thanks
