I’ve certainly experienced the higher end of travel. There aren’t many products and elite services on my ‘bucket list’ as it were. And I’m rarely jealous of others’ experiences. Until now. Here’s a photo report of the Emirates A380 first class shower.

Seriously.

Makes my upcoming visit to the Cabanas in Hong Kong after a first class arrival on Cathay look purely pederstrian.

I just wish Emirates would start flying the A380 to JFK already…

Update: Joe Brancatelli emails to let me know that Emirates had been flying the A380 JFK-DXB earlier this year, but they’ve shifted the aircraft up to Toronto where they’re only permitted 3 flights a week and they can better utilize the extra capacity.

    Great lookiing shower room, but very impractical. Why have the shower WITH a sink/toilet? Even Amtrak knows better in its sleeper cars. :)

    The whole thing seems more designed to impress than be truly practical. But I guess that defines “luxury” travel.

    Are you kidding? How would you like to hit turbulence buck-naked and water sliding? Not my idea of a first class experience at all!

    Having had an indulgent shower flying Emirates on the 3 hour flight between Auckland and Sydney earlier this year, it is a unique (at the moment) experience.

    I still prefer to have a shower in the lounge, but unfortunately there are all too few arrivals lounges. Even many departures lounges have no showers (such as the last one I used a couple of days ago in between two 14 hour flights!).
