Stay tuned. I pinged the Internet Brands folks this morning, their tech folks are working on the outage, “Hopefully fixed in minutes” though that was 15 minutes ago.

Hyperventialting…

Update: as of 10:20am Eastern, Flyertalk is back online for me.

They got hacked badly again. Looks like they’re going to need to up their IT defenses a bit more than they anticipated.

I have ZERO knowledge of what’s causing the outage. But I can say with some experience that “we’re being hacked!” is commonly the wrong assessment. Network problems are usually attributable to pedestrian causes, like a badly configured router or a defective cable.

considering that flyertalk was redirecting to a download site (with porn and other goodies) ‘hacked’ may be the correct diagnosis.

not entirely sure why, but i experienced some schadenfreude when the pirate site popped up on my screen.

… wonder if their IT staff is all volunteer as well… smile
