It’s finally official. Now all those honeymoons to Greece on miles don’t have to terminate in Athens with separate paid tickets to Crete and Santorini.

In addition to flying to the islands, they service major cities of Western Europe as well as Tel Aviv, Cairo, and Istanbul.

Aegean is expected to merge with Greek carrier Olympic in the fall. Too bad Olympic no longer serves North America and Australia, that would’ve been an interesting (to some…) ‘surprise’ way to book awards Down Under.

    Let me ask the obvious question: how good is Aegean’s premium cabin(s)?

    @abcx I haven’t flown them myself, but guessing that since they’re currently only flying narrowbody aircraft that it’s going to be pretty mediocre. Perhaps others reading have experience…

    I’ve flown HER-TLV last week. Very short flight <90 minutes. Only coach in this route. Great service. We even had nice breakfast + drinks.

    That is great news for future travel. Couple of months back we had to buy separate tickets for Santorini, after taking AF from LAX to Athens on the good old Northwest miles.

    Aegean has superb service, on par with KingFisher, and a decent intra-Europe network. With CO and US (seasonal) flying to ATH, in addition to simplifying travel to the Greek islands, the addition of Aegean, provides a viable alternative for travelers who want to go to other cities in Europe besides those in Greece. The flights might be a bit longer in some cases, but the service makes up for it.

    Aegean Has very good service, especially in domestic routes where other airlines doesn’t offer business class, is for years the best ”on time” airline at ATH. Nice addition to *A.

    Using the ANA tool I can not find a single award seat between ATH and any of the islands for the first two weeks in April in any direction. Is it that popular or do you think this is a bug?
