Via TM Travel World, Marriott is offering free Gold status for 90 days.
The offer states valid through February 28, 2011, so you may want to wait until you have Marriott stays planned. On the other hand, Marriott could pull the offer at any time so you might want to play it safe and grab the status now. They do want an Air China PhoenixMiles number on the signup page, though, so you at least need to enter one. The offer includes bonus Air China miles for Marriott stays.
The offer is valid for existing and for new members, and is being marketing to Air China PhoenixMiles members but membership in the Air China program isn’t required (not that it would be hard to join if it were!).
I’m trying to sign up for the FF number and it keeps saying i’m under 12 years old
I switched to IE and i got my Phoenix Miles Acount. I wonder how long until status shows up. gettng BUMP from Silver to Gold 🙂
Guessing it won’t work for existing Marriott members. Anyone know if it’s possible to switch the Marriott rewards number on existing reservations? I have a couple coming up.

I signed up in the Phoenix miles program and although I entered my current Marriott Rewards number it gave me a new number. Now I’ll have to call the program to have this new number deleted. I already had two stays booked at Marriotts–so now I’ll get the possible upgrade and breakfast. Hope it all goes through.
