Again Via TM Travel World comes this Instant Marriott Gold offer for 90 days doesn’t require you to enter an Air China Frequent Flyer number and only requires you to stay 8 nights within those 90 days to extend your Gold status through February, 2012.

There’s a separate link for new members to join with Gold status and for existing members to upgrade their status to Gold.

    The Air China Marriott Gold offer does not require you to enter an Air China number for existing Marriott Rewards members.

    Enrolling for a new Air China membership takes just a couple of minutes anyway.

    Of course this is an easier qualification threshold at 8 nights rather than 12, but if there is a membership check between programs the Marriott member can show Air China membership more easily than HSBC Premier.

    My Air China Marriott Gold instant elite already shows from Friday’s enrollment.

    I have Marriott Gold from a “Taste of Gold” promotion they had offered me in January. I have been a longtime Hilton Diamond member but my usual stops have been making it difficult to stay there because they have lowered the number of rooms available at my (significantly discounted) corporate rate. Which has forced me into Marriott’s arms because their rooms are still available at our rate.

    I have to say that I don’t think that Marriott Gold feels as special as Hilton Gold. Room upgrades are hit or miss, the complimentary little things (chocolates, alcohol, fruit, etc.) are hit or miss. Lounges are OK, they seem to have more restrictive hours and some even charge you for alcohol (!). But, if you have bandwidth to deviate your spending patterns, getting Gold in 8 nights is certainly better than having no status with Marriott at all.

    I signed up for the Air China offer and was Marriott Gold within two days. However I now need to stay 12 nights to keep the gold until 2012. This new offer is only 8 stays. Can I sign up for this newer offer and only stay 8 nights? The offer states for valued HSBC premier customers. Heck I don’t know what HSBC is and what you need to become a Premier member. Any thoughts? Gary? Thanks

    Unless you plan to do the 8 stays to extend your status, the Air China offer grants status for a longer time period as of now – 3/31/11 vs. 3/1/11. Anyone know if the miles are in addition to MR points, or do you have to choose miles for your stay instead of MR points?

    Do you have to reside in China to get this deal? The offer says valid witha a China residential or business address.
