Obscure Frequent Flyer Signup Bonuses

Via Frequent Flyer Bonuses, Sun Country UFly Rewards is offering 10 points for signing up.

And the Sichuan Airlines Golden Panda Club is offering 888 Golden Panda kilometers for joining their program. They also bonus travel by the end of the year, and referring friends and family. Thank goodness for Google translate. It doesn’t look like referred friends and family need to fly in order for the person doing the referring to earn points…

  1. Something about the Sichuan Airlines bonus:
    1. you can only refer friends by telephone calls. I think this prevents you from inviting your kitty or puppy to the club.
    2. the reason they give 888 miles as a sign up bonus is because “8” means “gaining fortune” in Chinese.

  2. I think all US based airlines need to start letting their members earn kilometers instead of miles…

  3. FYI – For Sun Country 10 points is equivalent to what you would earn for 1 RT flight and is 10% of the way towards a RT coach ticket. I know only because I fly to MN every couple years. Only a few other ways to earn miles and Sun Country flies almost exclusively in and out of MSP.
