Link: Chase Ink Bold Charge Card with 50,000 point signup bonus
Chase recently dropped the signup bonus on the Sapphire Preferred card from 50,000 to 40,000 points. First they dropped it on their own website and in their television ads, but other links were still around offering 50,000. Lots of blog readers got in on that offer before it was pulled.
The Chase Ink Bold Charge Card is the small business version of the card, so I was surprised to see the 50,000 point signup bonus stick around with it.
We’re already seeing Chase monkeying around with the offer, though. Chase.com now requires $10,000 in spend within three months to earn the full 50,000 point bonus. Ouch.
This link offers 50,000 points after spending $5000 within 3 months still, and waives the annual fee the first year.
It earns quintuple points on wireless/telecommunications services, cable and satellite TV and radio, and office supply stores and double points on hotels, gas stations, and with travel agencies (bonuses capped at 200,000 points per year).
Points transfer 1:1 into United, British Airways, Korean Airlines, Southwest, Amtrak, Hyatt, Marriott, Ritz-Carlton and Priority Club. I find United to be the best use of points, followed by Hyatt, with strategic uses for British Airways — though folks will differ based on the awards they value.
Hopefully the 50,000 point signup link with $5000 minimum spend will last, but I’m not counting on it at this point. (This link does offer me a referral credit, and is the best available offer I’m aware of. 50,000 points is especially valuable, and I have the card myself as a result.)

Just signed up using your link. Wanted to hold off for another month but did not want to risk of the bonus dropping

How much scrutiny should one expect for their “business” with this card? If you’re PLANNING to sell stuff on ebay but have no obvious proof of an existing business, should I expect the Spanish Inquisition?

You can apply as a sole proprietor.

They just ask a couple of questions about what you do, how long you have been in business, how much you make, and things about your “real” job. It’s not too bad — I’ve never had to fax any proof, and this makes card number 2.

Thanks for the heads up Gary! I got the old Ink Bold, Ink Classic, and the new Ink Bold. I ended up closing the Ink Classic. They didn’t really make me, but “noticed that you have a few accounts with us. Are you looking to close any?” The classic was any easy 25k points.
So, this makes 125,000 bonus points from the business line. I’ve also gotten the 50k bonus on the SP, plus an additional 175,000 UA/CO specific points between the personal/business lines. Boy, has Chase been good to me.

It’s recommended to wait at least a month before applying for another Chase card. If you are denied a card and then call the reconsideration line and get approved, should you wait a month from the original application date, or from the card approval date?
