Searching my own archives for an earlier post I realized I never wrote up that the Avis offer of 3000 US Airways miles on a 3-day (or longer) rental was still valid.

It was supposed to expire March 31, 2011 and then March 31, 2012 — and it’s been extended again, this time through February 28, 2013.

Use coupon code MUAA044 and provide your Dividend Miles number with the reservation. It’s my favor rental car promotion out there and has been for a couple of years.

Do you need to use US Airways AWD along with MUAA044 code or can you apply the code while using any AWD?

  2. Gary said,

Don’t need to use the US Airways AWD to eaern the miles

Any idea whether the reservations have to show up as 3+ days or does this still work for 2 days where you’re charged the same price as 3 (e.g., 2 days 15 hours)?

  4. Gary said,

@Eggss4 as long as you’re charged 3 days you qualify for miles off a 3-day rental

Unless it is a very cheap weekend rate, it is probably better to use a buy 2 weekend days/get 1 free weekend day coupon which are widely available.

  6. Susan said,

The link page for the offer says it is for Dividend Miles Preferred members. Does the coupon work if you are not preferred? And do you discuss anywhere the best method to keep up with rental car offers/bonuses, etc. FYI – love your blog and insights! Thanks.

@Susan I have been using it for a couple years successfully, not a Dividend Miles elite member

How do I add my DM # to a reservation?..

  9. hola said,

says it is not eligable except in only few locations but nowhere in greece.

why is that better for ya, then the miles’n more 3000 Avis promo?

  11. tassojunior said,

Agree with Mark- if it’s a weekend rental, which many 3-day rentals are, it’s better to use the coupon for 1 free day out of 3.

I second HF’s question–I don’t see anywhere to add a Dividend Miles number when making a reservation (or as part of my Avis profile)…surely in this day and age you have to be able to add this online, instead of the horribly inconsistent method of adding at the counter?

Love the blog Gary! How else do you think I’m getting to Costa Rica!?!
