Ron B. flags for me that Le Club Accorhotels is again offering instant Platinum (top tier status) with new account signup.

Note that the signup page is just a signup page, no indication on that page that accounts will start at the Platinum level, but indeed it’s currently working.

As I explained the last time there was a similar offer of instant platinum, this is marketed to a specific group, I’m not sure which one, but anyone should be able to use the link and keep the status.

At some point soon the link will stop awarding Platinum status and there won’t be any advance warning, but for now it’s working. These offers seem to pop up every couple of months or so. Sometimes more often than that.

Even if you don’t frequently stay at Sofitel, Novotel, Pullman, Mercure, and other related properties frequently, you never know when you might find yourself in one and having top tier status can’t hurt.

Platinum status usually requires 60 nights or 25,000 points earned. It offers double points and at Sofitel, Pullman and MGallery hotels a complimentary drink and welcome gift, and subject to availability and on request 4pm late checkout and an upgrade.

They’ll only let you sign up for one account per email address, so if opening a new account use a new email address. Some then combine their old and new accounts to preserve their points while elevating themselves to the new status.

The program isn’t among the more rewarding, but given that it’s top tier it can also be useful for status matching to other hotel programs. A status match offer like Best Western generally has can be obtained without demonstrated stay activity attached to the top tier elite account.

It may have died. I tried and kept getting an error after agreeing to T/C’s.

    Still works for me!

After registering, I had to log in, but my status is listed as Platinum.

    Thanks!

I got all the way to the end and then received an error message.

Be sure not to use an email address that is already on file with an existing account…..

  7. clau said,

how do you match the status from different hotel programs with Platinum at Accor hotels?

  8. Jenn said,

I had to try twice (the first time I got a similar error message) but the second time it worked!

  9. Simon said,

Worked for me – opened a new account and just added a period (.) in current gmail address (trick I learnt at the Chicago Seminars!)

  10. econjon said,

Still works. Thanks Simon, I had forgotten that trick!

  11. MillValleyMom said,

@Simon – could you elaborate? You gave a fake e-mail address? Don’t you want to be able to get e-mail confirmations from them?

  12. EGWG said,

@MillValleyMom In gmail, email addresses with the “.” and without the “.” end up in the same mailbox. You can use this when signing up for accounts because technically it’s a different email address but it still goes to the same mailbox.

It worked for me. Got very excited thinking Starwood would match, but they wouldn’t. Any tips? (I read somewhere around here that someone did this–how??)

  14. eco mama said,

Also, who else matches status besides Best Western? Thanks!

    club carlson will match

Ah, just in time, as I got an email from Accor yesterday that they were downgrading me for “not enough stays” in the last year. I did stay some 8 nights, but that wasn’t enough to stay Plat. So now I am Plat again, which doesn’t get me a whole lot. Except as Gary pointed out, I won’t be getting the room next to the HVAC unit. A feature well worth every penny I didn’t spend to be Plat again. Thanks Gary !

Hi, Any way to get this working for existing Le Club members or is it just for new ones? Stuck at silver level forever.
    Thanks
