A new Priority Club PointBreaks list is out.

These are the promotional awards where rooms at specific hotels are only 5000 points per night.

While the offer is valid through January 31, the best hotels participating each round usually sell out quickly and are pulled in a few days. So if you want to redeem your points for one of these properties — or even might want to — it’s a good idea to make that booking right away.

As of this writing there are no listed properties in Africa. There are 9 Holiday Inns listed in Europe. There are just 7 hotels currently listed in Asia including the Intercontinental Jakarta — which is the only included Intercontinental at this point (it’s possible that more could be added).

I can only hope that the list is a work in progress. Because while the promotion is great – if you luck out in terms of needing to book one of the hotels on the list for a deep discount — light participating isn’t an encouraging sign about the future of the promotion (which has often been rumored to be on the chopping block).

One of the worst list ever! Nothing I can use.

The list just gets worse and worse every quarter…

I wonder why hotels in Africa are excluded, maybe they just want to promote hotels in cities where there’s a weak demand from tourists. Though it’s not a bad idea.

Not many good options. Still a fair deal if you’ll be traveling through some of these obscure cities. But nothing groundbreaking. I really miss the good old days of redeeming 5K PC points for the Intercontinental Toronto Yorkville.

I got the Intercontinental Jakarta for a couple of business trips coming up, so thanks, Gary. Faster than the FlyerTalk notification again, which I didn’t get until 15 hours later…
