I’m in a video-ish mood, and in keeping with our theme, wanted to post one more.
I reccomend the following video to anyone who tells me they have a fear of flying. It’s a Boeing test video of a 777 from 1995, in which, in front of a large crowd of employee spectators, engineers see how far they can flex a test 777’s wings before they snap. Let me just say: those wings are incredibly strong. From the video, engineers were able to flex them significantly further than they originally thought possible, before the wings snapped. The best part? Their original estimates of wing-snappage points were already way larger than what any airplane would encounter in flight. For those with a fear of flying, simply remember: those sexy flying beasts are ridiculously strong, and here’s the video to prove it.

totally unrelated, BUT.
