Today on Groupon you can purchase a $10 Starbucks gift card for just $5. This is limited to one purchase per account, but you have family member’s accounts you can use, right?! This is set to expire tomorrow night, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they sell out today.

If you are interested in this pretty good deal (I don’t even drink coffee, but still purchased 1!), here are some extra ways to earn points/miles or cash back. Purchase through one of these online shopping portals:

  • Big Crumbs – 0.7%*
  • Ebates – 3%
  • Mr. Rebates – 3%
  • TopCashBack – 1%* (if you are a new Groupon customer you’ll get 10% back)
  • Chase Ultimate Rewards – 2 points/$1
  • American Airlines – 2 miles/$1
  • Southwest – 2 points/$1

*This deal is considered charity/promotion, so some of the cash back sites have a range percentage’s listed, so I’ve listed the amount back based on the Groupon tier.

Of course there are more shopping portals, but I listed the ones with the highest cash back/points/miles. Anyways, $5 isn’t going to add up to much, but might as well get something. It can also be a good time to keep a frequent flyer account active if it is close to expiring – keep in mind you can make the purchase through another family members frequent flyer portal if need be. You can purchase this Starbucks Groupon here.

Enjoy your free cup of coffee!

Also, Google Offers has an offer for a free cup of tea from Teavana.

  • dealswelike said,

@Kathy – I saw that and am excited for my free 16 oz tea instead of the free samples outside of the store. Great for when I get off the subway since Teavana is right there!

Discover has been giving 15% back if you go through their portal to Groupon.

Discover cash back “•Offer not valid on Epic Deals, Trips & Getaways, GrouponLive, GrouponNow, Groupon Goods, Groupon Gift Cards and Charity Promotions”

So if this is “considered charity/promotion”, you can not get the cash back.

Better to send a “referral” link said family members and pick up $10 groupon credit. Beats the pants off 5 pts…

This is purchased (at least mine was) in Canadian dollars, and you cant combine cards from different markets. Thus, I guess I guess I have a card next time I am in Canada. UGH!

  • W Brian Duncan (AKA IPBrian) said,

I have no idea what happened…but beware Groupon I guess!

  • dealswelike said,

@W Brian Duncan – Oh no!!!!! Call Groupon and see if you can return it.

Interestingly enough I was able to purchase the USD card as well. I have a request into Starbucks to move the card. Hopefully I can transfer the funds to a US card. :-)

@ IPBrian – great. Let me know about the ca card!
