HYATT house 53 days of prizes and contests

Hyatt House is the new brand for Hyatt created from the conversion of extended stay properties of SummerField Suites and the 2011 acquisition of Sierra Hotels. There are 53 Hyatt House hotels in the U.S.

From a loyalty program point of view there are a few things to keep in mind with Hyatt House properties:

53 Days of Housewarming

This might be a good time to book a stay at Hyatt House. There will be special festivities and party favors during the housewarming weeks from now into May. You also have the chance to enter for an exclusive housewarming gift from each Hyatt House property valued at over $1,000.

Sara Kate Gillingham-Ryan is the featured personality for this promotion. She is the author of cookbook Good Food to Share. Here is a YouTube video of Sara, award-winning food blogger, discussing her cookbook.

As a part of this initiative, Gillingham-Ryan and HYATT house have created a hotel handbook that every guest will receive upon check-in during the 53 days. This how-to guide includes great tips and tricks for making life on the road more comfortable, along with recipes from Gillingham-Ryan’s recently released book, Good Food To Share, all which can be prepared from the comfort of a HYATT house kitchen suite. Other on-property festivities include fresh baked cookies each night, an additional housewarming party favor for guests and an exciting sweepstakes at each property to win Sara Kate Gillingham-Ryan’s ultimate housewarming prize pack filled with must-have items that will allow guests to feel both connected and relaxed while traveling.

The concept behind this campaign for Hyatt House is conveying the image of an extended stay hotel where guests can live. The kitchen truly is the distinctive feature of Hyatt House and other extended stay hotel properties in brands like Marriott Residence Inn and TownePlace Suites, Starwood Element, IHG Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites, and Hilton Home2 Suites.

The site http://www.house.hyatt.com/housewarming seems to confirm this concept.

Branding spelling unhinged from spelling conventions

The spelling of HYATT house in the hotel brand logo actually uses all caps in Hyatt and no caps in house. Excuse me if I write Hyatt House. Not following proper name conventions is a pain when writing the blog.

I’ll likely write Hyatt House and wait to see if my brain catches on to the capital letter thing. Starwood Hotels aloft is another brand logo name without a capital letter.
