Hilton HHonors $6,000 Teacher Treks Travel Grants

Hilton HHonors has partnered with the Institute of International Education (IIE) to fund 15 teacher winners with $6,000 to fulfill a travel experience. And your school gets $2,500 too. Now that will make you popular at your school site.

In addition to the Teacher Treks winners, 15 more teachers will also receive $2,500 grants for their schools.

And even if you are not a teacher, you can still win a $250 Hilton gift card just for voting in the Teacher Treks grant competition.

Hilton’s survey discovered 93% of teachers are travelers.

What did you think we teachers do with those 14 weeks of vacation each year? My ten year career as an elementary teacher is where I got the travel knowledge to launch Loyalty Traveler blog.

“With more than 34 million Hilton HHonors members worldwide, we see firsthand the profound impact travel and cultural experiences can have on people’s lives, a philosophy that originated with our founder Conrad N. Hilton,” said Jeff Diskin, executive vice president, Hilton Worldwide. “As curators of knowledge, teachers have an invaluable role in inspiring their students to learn about and experience other cultures, and the HHonors Teacher Treks program will help them bring their real-world experiences back to the classroom. Teacher Treks embodies our corporate responsibility commitment to Travel with Purpose and highlights our belief that celebrating cultures can foster greater understanding between people and nations.”

This is fantastic- my wife is a middle school teacher (under paid like most teachers), and this would be a great way to travel add value to her classroom experience.
    Thanks for posting!

I’m a teacher, but I’m going to pass. These “voting sweepstakes” contests end up being a “campaign with everybody you know to vote for you early and often”, rather than being based on merit. For those interested, it’s an opportunity.

I am thrilled to be one of the finalists in this competition. If I am one of the winners I will travel to the Indian Ocean islands of Zanzibar, just off the coast of Tanzania, and Mauritius, east of Madagascar.

Please help me open the eyes of students to the endless possibilities of what they can discover and learn through travel. Cast a vote daily for Sandra K.

    I appreciate your support!
