  1. Ric, when I first read this I thought

“$120 or 80 EUR as hotel stay credits. 8,000 miles for $120 is a good buy if this were a straight purchase of miles.”

What this means is that when you earn Accor Points, you can redeem 4000 points for either a $120 hotel credit or the better redemption of 8000 Delta miles.

I originally thought that you meant a $120 stay would get you 4000 Delta points. But really it would be $1300 of stays would get you 8000 Delta points or (4000 accor points or $120 credit)

  2. I could have made that clearer.

Assuming you have 4,000 Accor points, you can get two $60 vouchers or 8,000 miles.

Earning 4,000 points can take €2,000 to €4,000 in Accor spend. This is why promotions are important with Accor. Double and triple points offers can reduce that to under €1,000 in spend. Then $1,300 might earn 4,000 points which is stll only a 10% rebate.

The rate points are earned and their redemption value is lower than most US based hotel loyalty programs.

  3. [...] 4X Delta SkyMiles or 3X Aeroplan miles for stays at Accor hotels through April [...]

  4. It is rather confusing, but until March 1 when the Iberia rates goes to 1:1, the minimum Iberia transfer is actually 3,000, not 4,000, despite what the official terms say. And, to my dismay, whether with automatic or manual transfer, the points only go in blocks of 3,000 so 1,500 of my 4,500 will be orphaned.

  5. Also confusing that Accor has both a triple miles and 4x miles offer for the same time period. Looks like the only difference is 4x miles requires February booking date.
