Entry Rules:
1. Post a picture on Instagram or Twitter of you outside by 12:00 noon (Pacific time) Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
Your photo can be in a park, courtyard, outside on a patio for lunch. Wherever. You just need to be seen outside to have a valid photo entry for this contest.
2. Tag your photo with @LoyaltyTraveler and use #SummerOnTheGo.
These are two essential components for your photo post so I can follow along, find and include your photo in the contest entries.
3. I’ll choose a winner for the National Summer on-the-Go prize pack and contact the winner for shipping details to pass on to National Car Rental.

Getting outside and away from the crowds is something I can relate to as I have taken advantage of being in parks on my recent business trips to Toronto and Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Airport to Death Valley National Park is only 130 miles to reach the lowest spot in North America at 282 feet below sea-level. A trip to Las Vegas places you in the most convenient location for a Death Valley excursion.
Next month is the centennial commemoration of the hottest temperature officially recorded on earth when Greenland Ranch in Death Valley reached 134 degrees Fahrenheit on July 10, 1913.
This past week the temperature at Furnace Creek Visitor Center, Death Valley National Park hit 123 F.
Death Valley in summer is a perfect occasion to have a rental car for an air conditioned getaway desert drive.
And if Death Valley is too hot, you can be hiking in Zion National Park, Utah after three hours driving I-15 northeast from Las Vegas.
Here in the west there are plenty of opportunities to get outside and roam about places outside major cities where a car can take you there and back in a day.
Los Angeles Airport to Big Bear Lake is 113 miles and a little over two hours drive at off-peak times to travel from the airport to the mountain lake at 6,700 feet. Los Angeles may feel like a great big traffic jammed freeway until you head up into the mountains and see a wilder side of southern California.
San Francisco Airport to Santa Cruz, Monterey/Carmel and Big Sur is a great driving excursion down California Highway 1.
Central Coast California is one of the most scenic areas of the state where even the car and motorcycle companies frequently travel to film their commercials.
