Hotel Loyalty 2014-Q2 hotel promotions Hyatt Gold Passport Hyatt Hotels

Hyatt May 1–July 31 email offers for up to 5,000 points or free night.

My email inbox received an offer yesterday from Hyatt Gold Passport for 5,000 bonus points after four stays from May 1 – July 31, 2014. This is a targeted offer that I saw mentioned on a few blogs this week.

Typically I do not write about targeted offers, but since I got this offer and after looking at this FlyerTalk thread, I have more data to share about these targeted offers.

There appear to be several variations based on FlyerTalk reports and Jeff at Canadian Kilometers, another BoardingArea blog, started the FlyerTalk thread two days ago.

5,000 bonus points for stays May 1 – July 31

  • 5,000 bonus points after 5 stays (Jeff Canadian Kilometers offer)
  • 5,000 bonus points after 4 stays (my offer – I have only had one paid stay in 2014 with Hyatt. Is the number of stays equal to stays needed to reach Platinum elite?)
  • 5,000 bonus points after 3 stays
  • 5,000 bonus points after one stay.
  • 2,000 bonus points after next stay.
  • 1,000 bonus points after next stay.
  • Free night certificate for category 1-4 hotel after two stays.
  • Free night certificate for category 1-4 hotel after one stay.

Hyatt May 1 – July 31 bonus offer Terms and Conditions for my offer.

Members will receive 5,000 Hyatt Gold Passport bonus points after your fourth Eligible Stay from May 1, 2014 through July 31, 2014. A maximum 5,000 bonus points may be earned, regardless of the number of stays completed during the promotional period. For the purpose of this Offer, an “Eligible Stay” is defined in the complete Terms and Conditions of the Hyatt Gold Passport program, except that stays at M life resorts do not count as Eligible Stays under this promotion. Award nights shall not constitute an eligible night. Hyatt Gold Passport members will only receive eligible stay credit for their room, regardless of the number of paid rooms.

Points + Cash award stays are considered an ‘eligible stay’ according to Hyatt Gold Passport T&C.

An “Eligible Rate” shall be defined as any hotel published room rate, including, but not limited to rates found on hyatt.com, the Hyatt Daily Rate, Volume Account Rates, AAA and Senior Citizen rates and Points + Cash awards.

The fact that only three pages of responses are on the FlyerTalk thread has me thinking this is not a widely emailed offer. Then again, I just received my Hyatt Gold Passport offer yesterday afternoon. More emails may be going out.

One comment suggested email offers were only for USA members, although Jeff of Canadian Kilometers is a resident of Canada and a Hyatt Gold Passport member from the UK claimed to receive a Hyatt Gold Passport email.

Several FlyerTalk members who did not receive email offers stated they did not have Communications Preferences boxes checked for their account.

There is an area of the Hyatt Gold Passport member profile to select email communication preferences.

So check your email for an offer from Hyatt Gold Passport this week if you have a history with the chain. You might be surprised with a bonus offer for stays from May 1 – July 31, 2014.

Hyatt Gold Passport is the only hotel chain where I have not spotted a potential best rate guarantee claim this week as I search hotel rates for my trip to Georgia and the Carolinas in ten days. My one stay with Hyatt in 2014 was Hyatt Regency Minneapolis for five nights in February 2014. I stayed on a best rate guarantee for $60 per night and upgraded to a suite with a Diamond suite certificate while earning one free category 1-4 night after five nights from the current promotion ending April 30. That free night will put me in the category 4 Andaz Savannah, Georgia.

    I got 1000 points after 1 stay.

On another note, my mom received an email from SPG offering 1 free night at Cat 1-6 after 1 stay. That’s an awesome promotion. I wish it was for me.

I got 5000 bonus points after 2 stays. At least I have 2 stays planned in that time lol

I wonder if this target is at members that have not stayed regularly this year so far. I have as of today 24 nights, Diamond and have not gotten any of these targeted offers.

@Jim Po – I think it is targeted to members who have not stayed regularly.

My question is whether the number of stays needed for bonus relates to number of stays people have had in 2014?

Question for those of you who got 5,000 points after 2 stays offer: How many stays did you have this year?

For those leaving new comments, would you please tell how many stays you have had in 2014. I am wondering if there is a pattern.

I am Diamond and stay somewhat regularly. I got nothing.
