Who doesn’t love Colorado and who doesn’t love a sale?  A good sale to get to Colorado is almost perfect in my book!  To celebrate “Colorado Day” (which is 8/1 to celebrate the day that Colorado became a state in 1876) Frontier Airlines has launched a sale that they proclaim is their “biggest sale of the year” with flights starting at $49 each way to/from Denver.  If you want to go to Denver on Frontier, there are some pretty good deals to be had.  Of course, Denver can be a pretty competitive market with good deals anyway, but a little sale on top of a competitive market can be a good thing.

Frontier's Colorado Day Sale! It's our biggest sale of the year.

Tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, August 1, 2013. Fares are one way for domestic travel to/from Denver, CO, through December 18, 2013, for flights operating Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Higher sale fares apply to travel on other days; Sundays are excluded from this offer. Blackout dates of September 2, November 22-27, and November 30-December 2, 2013, apply. A 14-day advance purchase applies.

Here are some sample prices that are available (prices based on one-way:

Houston – Denver: $79

Kansas City – Denver: $69

LAX – Denver: $89

Chicago – Denver: $69

Austin – Denver: $79

Albuquerque – Denver: $39

New York – Denver: $99

When I checked the Houston route, the dates that were available were pretty wide open on the sale dates.

A couple years ago, Southwest got in on the “Colorado Day” price war to Denver and some flights ended up as low as $9 each way.  I would love to see other airlines get in on the action today, and will update if that happens…but don’t hold your breath for a $9 flight.
