I know today has been pretty heavy on the credit card front in the miles and points world thanks to the intro of one of the best limited time offers of the year via the SPG Amex, so I will keep this credit card related post short and to the point. The 50,000 point sign-up offers on the Southwest cards are scheduled to end tonight, and since the stellar sign-up offer is worth at least $833 if you use the points toward “Wanna Get Away” fares, I thought it to be worth a final mention. If you leverage the sign-up offers for the Companion Pass the points become even more valuable.

Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Business Card – 50,000 points after spending $2,000 in 3 months ($99 annual fee, 6,000 annual bonus points)
Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus Personal Card – 50,000 points after spending $2,000 in 3 months ($69 annual fee, but also comes with 3,000 annual bonus points)
Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus Business Card – 50,000 points after spending $2,000 in 3 months ($69 annual fee, but also comes with 3,000 annual bonus points)
I would not delay further if you want in on the 50k offer this time around. I suspect the offers will drop back down to 25,000 points after tomorrow, though sometimes they live on. The 50k point versions have appeared a few times this year, and I certainly hope they will appear again in a few months. No promises on that happening, but I wouldn’t stress if now is not the right time for you to go for it. But, if it is the right time then act now before you might be kicking yourself tomorrow. If Southwest serves an airport convenient for you, then it really is one of the best airlines for families on domestic flights.
….and their honey roasted peanuts are delicious.
