Earlier in July United pulled EVA Air award space from their website, supposedly due to a technical glitch of some sort. Well, the good news is that EVA Air award space is back on united.com and seems to be functioning just fine.

As I’ve written about, EVA Air premium cabin award space is outrageously good, and they have a really good product as well. I had the chance to fly them from Taipei to San Francisco, and while the food quality left a bit to be desired, the hard product, entertainment, and service were all among the best I’ve had on any airline in business class.

Viva la EVA!

I just booked two business class for JFK-TPE. United informed me that only one 50 pb luggage is allowed per person which is even worse than economic. After checking with EVA, it seemed to be two 70 pb luggages for business class.

The system integration btw United and EVA doesn’t seem to be stable yet. You may want to check after you book flight.

@ Peter_ng — Assuming ANA would be the new business class product as well, I’d choose whichever is more convenient. In terms of the hard product EVA definitely still has the edge.

Can you select seats when booking EVA business class flights through United? I don’t see that option under United website.

@ Alvin Ch — You can select seats starting about three months out, though only on the EVA website. Simply go to the “Manage Booking” section of their website and enter your EVA confirmation number and you should be able to select seats there.
