Park Hyatt Sydney – Ridiculous view for breakfast

Our Qantas A380 touched down early this morning at Sydney International Airport. We hopped on the train towards downtown and the Park Hyatt Sydney.  We checked in around 8AM and the Park Hyatt graciously extended same day complimentary Diamond Breakfast for both of us.  For a first time visitor to Australia,  this was a great way to shake off the grogginess and kick off the trip in style!

I went with the egg white omelet with smoked leg ham, vintage cheddar, mushrooms and spinach.  Fantastic. My friend went with the Belgian Waffles. Fantastic.

We also had freshly squeezed orange juice and lattes. Fantastic.

In case you are curious, here is the full menu.  As a Diamond GP member I only expected to be comped up to the Park Breakfast though they informed us we had and I quote, “free reign” over the menu.

Along with the a la carte menu, there were four tables set up for the continental breakfast buffet.

Breakfast took us quite awhile to finish because, frankly, how can you focus on eating when you have unobstructed views of the FLIPPIN’ SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE!

Needless to say, I love Australia already. More to come.

  1. New to Sydney, and have a similar arrival in Oct. How did you decide to take the train? Was it easy with baggage?

  2. I’m a Diamond thinking of staying at the PH using my suite certs from the Hyatt card. But I have 3 adults and 1 teenager (14 yrs)…do you know if your suite is big enough for us, or must we do 2 suites each night? Nice pics!

  3. awwwww. Enjoy. As an Australian I would like to say “G’day and have a bloody good time”

  4. officially the rule is maximum 3 person occupancy per room. (fire restriction or whatever)

  5. Thanks for the post. I am staying there for several days in March and wondered about breakfast.

  6. I have the Hyatt CC with 2 nights in the suites. If I book the Park Hyatt Sydney, will it be a suite or the basic room? Just wondering cause I know the basic rooms are already expensive.

  7. @David – There were two of us with 3 roller boards and two backpacks. We arrived on a Saturday morning so traffic was light but it still felt a little uncomfortable having to block off an entire seat for our luggage since we did not see any luggage racks. We paid 16 AUD per person for the short train ride so if traveling in a group of two or more I recommend a taxi.

  8. @H,Benny – Park Hyatt Sydney is one of the few Hyatt properties with no standard suites therefore you can no use Suite Night Awards or Confirmed Suite Upgrades. All reports I came across indicate the hotel will not upgrade a Diamond to a suite. Rest assured, the standard rooms are incredible.

  9. No offense, but that is NOT an AMAZING view. I can think of many restaurants/hotels with better views.

  10. I just stayed here for a few nights back in July. The breakfast view, and the breakfast itself were awesome, as you show in your post 🙂 I had a waitress name Bianca (say hi to her for me if you can), and she pretty much informed me of the “free reign” on them menu. So I would have entrees, sides, tea, fresh squeezed juices, and then whatever I wanted from the buffet area 🙂
