Another Domestic Delta Route With Flat-Bed Service On International Configured Plane - Points Miles and Martinis

As Delta continues their roll out of truly flat-bed products across their fleet, you can sometimes catch a domestic flight on an internationally configured plane. This week I stumbled across yet another route where you can catch the internationally configured 767 with flat bed seats.

Either the planes are being repositioned across the network or are leaving to a city for an international departure. In either case, we’ll be happy to fly up front on one of the internationally configured planes in Delta’s new flat-bed Business Class product.

In the past, I’ve enjoyed Business Elite product flying domestically on Delta’s 777 (flat-bed), 767 (cradle seats), A330 (lie-flat) and 757 (lie-flat). I’ve also shared how you could catch a flat-bed on Delta’s 747 to or from LAX. One way to find these flights is to start with the dedicated routes for Delta’s flat-beds and look at incoming and outgoing flights on those planes.

Although I’ve flown in the 767 flat-bed seats internationally, I haven’t yet flown the Delta 747 or 767 with flat-beds on a domestic route. So I was happy when I found this route which operates a 767 configured with flat-bed Business Elite seats.

Fly Atlanta To / From San Francisco In Flat-Bed Business Elite

Delta is operating a reconfigured Boeing 767 with flat-bed seats on their Atlanta to San Francisco route. In addition to offering a flat-bed in Business Class, the flight offers wifi, something that I haven’t typically seen on the internationally configured 777 when operated domestically.

I’ve found good Business Class availability and upgrade percentages on these flights in the past.

Bottom Line

Booking internationally configured planes will help with your upgrade chances because they typically have more seats up front. If you do catch an upgrade, and the flight is operated by an internationally configured plane, there is a good chance you’ll fly in a flat-bed seat on a domestic flight.
