Earn 1000 Southwest Points for using TurboTax Online - Points Miles and Martinis

I hate to bring this up but it is time to start thinking about tax season.  As is the case with any activity which requires an exchange of money, we points collectors need to think about how we can generate points from this inevitabletransaction.  Southwest Airlines and TurboTax have teamed up to offer an easy way to earn 1000 Rapid Rewards Points for filing your taxes with TurboTaxOnline.  To collect the 1000 Southwest Rapid Rewards Points, simply file your 2012 tax return with any TurboTax Online Federal product by April 15, 2013.

To take advantage of this special offer, simply follow these steps:

Step 1:  Click here which will take you to Rapid Rewards Shopping.

Step 2:  Log in to Rapid Rewards Shopping with your Rapid Rewards account information and click on theTurboTax offer.

Step 3:  Complete your federal tax return with TurboTax Online by April 15, 2013.

2012 TurboTax Online Federal Products Qualifying for 1,000 Rapid Rewards Points are TurboTax Online Federal Free, Basic, Deluxe, Premier, and Home & Business.  All other products are excluded.

The bottom line

I took advantage of this offer last year and earned 1000 Southwest points worth approximately 17 USD for doing what I was planning on doing anyways. I wouldn’t go out of my way to use Turbotax if I was satisfied with another online tax service but if you do plan to use their product,  be sure to collect these easy points!

FYI you can get free TurboTax by having a checking account with State Farm bank. Not sure if this would stack with that, I would guess not but who knows…

Got this and definitely clicked through! I generally use the TurboTax free as my returns are pretty basic, but that was still included I noticed. Just be careful if you’re planning on using the Free version online as they’re pretty good about sneaking in a paid upgrade link and once you click the paid link, there is no going back at all.
