Number 4 – Radisson Blu Aqua Chicago

Number 3 – Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Oslo
Among the tallest hotels in Northern Europe, the Radisson Blue Plaza Hotel is an impressive sight. Alex stayed at this hotel and his review of the hotel was very favorable. This category 6 hotel requires 50,000 Club Carlson points per night.
Number 2 – Radisson Blu Polar Hotel, Spitsbergen
This is arguably the most unique hotel in the Club Carlson property portfolio located in the northern most city in the entire world! Who doesn’t like a property at the top of the world where a six pack of Corona will run you 40 dollars?

Number 1 – It’s A Tie In The Maldives
Club Carlson has two properties opening up this year in the Maldives. Who doesn’t like free hotel nights in paradise?
The Radisson Plaza Resort Maldives Naagoshi is scheduled to open in December 2013 on it’s remote island. The Radisson Blu Hotel Maldives Hulhumale is scheduled to open in November 2013.

I think the Moscow property is well regarded and of course, given rates there, a good deal to redeem.
The May Fair in London is a funky five star. Oddly, Carlson probably has more London properties than any chain except Priority Club so you would always find something.
Also unsurpassed coverage in Scandinavia, obviously.
Just got the Premier Rewards Visa this AM. Plan to use them in Australia.
I agree the May Fair is a nice, funky, hip place that is in a great location in London. I’d definitely place that in a top 10. The service there was also very classy.
Thank for this post. Loved to read about the Norway properties and the new ones in Maldives. Been to Chicago so many times. I just can’t bring myself to burn 50k on the property there, would rather burn them in a place I have never visited before! See you tomorrow;-)
I have a review on my blog of the Paris Blu Bologne. I actually don’t recommend it for points because I picked it up for 95 euro a night in a eiffel tower view rom inc breakfast. They do have closer in Paris properties that could be great point value.
Currently staying at the Radisson Blu Aruba (50k per night) ……nothing wrong with this redemption option.

FWIW I have reached out to various folks at CC in Asia to get more info on the Maldives property but wall of silence. The second one the Hulhumale one is not going to be anything interesting it’s in Male. At best it will be an over-nighter en route to the more exotic properties. So I definitely would not have this on a top 5 list.
Dont overlook the Mayfair London. I stayed there for 4 nights using 200K from promos, etc and loved it. It was my third time at the property and under the new GM its really great. Had tea with him and a personal site tour and they have really cool features.
The Radisson Blu Plaza hotel in Oslo is not the tallest building in Northern Europe. In the Scandinavian countries, the honor of the tallest building goes to the Turning Torso in Malmo, Sweden, which is a mixed use building used for residential and commercial purposes but has no hotel.
The Radisson Blu Plaza hotel is the tallest building in Norway. It may be the tallest hotel in Northern Europe, but that I have not validated.

Stockholm’s Scandic Victoria hotel, which opened in 2011, is now the tallest hotel in the Scandinavian region. Having been at both buildings, I’m sort of surprised that the Scandic Victoria in Stockholm is taller than the Radisson Oslo Plaza building.
I just used points to stay at the Radisson Blu Berlin. Across the street from the Berliner Dom and Museum Island. Oh and did I mention, it has a fishtank that is over five stories at the center of the hotel!

I second the mayfair. Great hotel… Also I would say, if you have the credit card, the Country Inn and Suites Savannah, for a weekend has a good rate of 38,000 points for 2 nights!
Stayed at the Istanbul property on the Bosphorus, and it was quite good! (Aquaba, Jordan, and Quito, Ecuador: not so much) Heard about the Mayfair.
When they ran the past one night, get 50,000 free points, I used them to redeem for the Radisson Tahiti. Kind of out of the way location, but it was great for free!
Why no love for Dublin Blu? Stayed there over New Years when rates were north of 330 euro. Excellent location, bfast spread, staff.
Guys what about New York? Some good option for redemption you can recommend? I plan to spend my 500k this year 😀
