American Airlines closed their Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic Admirals Club Lounge last year along with a few others. If you are like me, you normally go to the lounge of the airline you fly, but if you find yourself in the Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, it could pay to look around at other OneWorld options.

There a great OneWorld option in Terminal A at Santo Domingo Las Americas Airport. The Iberia lounge can be found in the terminal just past security. They have decent food but the espresso machine rocks the party. It’s been recently renovated too.

Bottom Line

If you find yourself in the a strange airport and the airline you normally fly doesn’t have a lounge, check out your alliance benefits to see if your status provides access to another lounge.

The Santo Domingo American Airlines Admiral Club may have closed, but that doesn’t prevent AAdvantage Elite members from using their elite benefits to access the newly renovated Iberia Club Lounge in Terminal A.

  1. Iberia has announced they are cancelling MAD-Santo Domingo flights, quite soon, so that lounge will close too.
